Random thoughts about my mother
Watch me be cheesy.
Firstly, happy birthday, I hope you had an awesome day!
Never have I felt so proud to be able to call you my mother than these last few years. I consider myself to be so privileged to have someone like you in my life. All the adventures and life lessons… I wouldn’t change a thing!
Is she the person by your side as you realise neither of you are wearing the most appropriate clothing to be allowed in a ‘sacred’ place?
Or when you realise that as much as you try to blend in, you still look like foreigners but at least you tried and you’re together in that!
She’s there through the calm…
And ALL the excitement!
She’s the one to turn to when no one else will sing cheesy songs at the top of their lungs because they’re too embarrassed...
Yet she’s also the one to turn to when all you want to do is cuddle up in bed, eat chocolate, and watch a romantic movie, because you’re both at that synchronised time of the month!
I guess a mother is a range of things...
She’s someone who is willing to take you to beautiful places…
And to see beautiful faces… Even if they are only made of wax.
She’s the person who doesn’t mind you buying the same clothes as her…
She’s hardly even noticed that I’ve been “borrowing” her comfy pyjamas for years now!
A mother is all of these things and so much more!
A mother is someone who guides us through the beginnings of our lives, teaching us how to perceive the world around us, opening our minds to new perspectives and holding our hand as we dive into new nerve-wrecking experiences.
A mother is always there, even when she may not physically be there.
A mother will stay with you through the good, the bad, and the occasionally unflattering angles.
Or simply happy to be alive…
You know she’s there.
She’s got your back.
Always.

You’re constantly packed with motivation and inspiration that it’s hard to not be positive all the time around you. I feel my worries always become insignificant as you taught me to always see the positives in a negative situation.
I miss you every day that goes by, but it’s bearable simply knowing that you’re doing what you love and what you’re passionate about!
You have taught me so much and then some… I can’t begin to express how grateful I am for everything that you have been through and done for us as a family. You’ve shown us what it is to live life in the most purest form, love above all.
Now, what really is a mother? Aside from the biological definitions…
Is she just simply a ‘mother’ or is she more than that?
Is a mother a gym buddy? Snitching on you as she tells your trainer that you ate a huge bowl of pasta so he can make you do more exercise?
